I know I'm slack!

Well I know I didn't stick to my word when I said I'd blog about my holiday and then life that followed... So its time to try and redeem myself. What has pushed me to start again is the fact that I'm having so much fun with the boyfriend that I want to remember some of these amazing times we are having and let you all in on why we are so happy.... BUT first to finish about my holiday:

Basically after my last post I got a little sick, spent a day and a bit throwing up in my little cabin on board our boat with my very caring brother looking after me! It made me home sick but so grateful at the same time as my big brother was really being a big brother - even gave me his pillow and he slept on a life jacket! I got to enjoy the last day on the boat with some swimming and sunshine (something that seems to be missing here at the moment even though its summer in Sydney).

We left Croatia and headed to Copenhagen.... RUDE shock when we landed and it was like 16 degrees!! I didn't pack for that, I'd packed for the Mediterranean!!! Copenhagen was nice, not amazing but nice.... It was a kind of dirty city and I felt unsafe on more then one occasion (may be because we were staying in the red light district). My favourite thing was the hotdogs... mmmm hotdogs with little crispy things and sauces to die for! I guess it was a hard city to follow on from Croatia and the price also didnt help much. On average I was paying about $8 for a coffee! The brother and I stocked up on Danishes and were on a sugar high for most of our time there. We hired bikes and rode around the city, visiting churches and restaurants - ill give them this much, they had some amazing food! We went for a ride to Christiana - the free state within Copenhagen.... Within the walls they called it the 'Green Light District' meaning they grew and sold marijuana EVERYWHERE. We didn't stay there long.

Ice cream was one thing they also did well... we made sure we ate a lot of that the whole time we were away! We went to a lego shop with bigger then life size lego people, went to a changing of the guard that went for almost an hour but my very favourite thing in Copenhagen was visiting Princess Mary (Mares as we call her ;) ) - it wasn't an overly large castle but had some really cool things in there from art to amazing crown jewels. While we were there having lunch (FYI everywhere in Scandinavia and Germany smelt like Oma and Opas place, well it reminded me of that) someone set off the alarm in the treasury and we seen the army at work, we are told it happens every week when someone touches the glass - it was full on! About 50 men responded with bayonets and guns.... freaky for the person who touched it! We ended up leaving Copenhagen a day early to head to Gothenburg as it was so expensive to stay and I'd had enough, I wanted somewhere else. So off we went to visit my beautiful friend Malin....

To be continued.... promise this time!!!
